Born
and raised on the Jersey Shore (sans Snooki), IPR is a small, creative and independent
project-based label and music/artist/venue support company with
offices in NJ, NYC, and Saint Augustine, FL.
A few history notes:
Launched
in 2005 with the release of April Smith’s (Perez Hilton,
Lollapalooza 2009) debut CD “loveletterbombs” (which won 2006's
"Best Release" @ Asbury Music Awards), IPR has been
represented at SXSW, CMJ Music Marathon, nationally in Billboard,
Justine, Playboy, and American Cheerleader Magazines, and label showcases/benefits at
top clubs throughout the country including the Viper
Room (LA) and Canal Room (NYC).
In 2007, IPR began working with Travis Tooke, founding member of Sony/Epic recording artists For Squirrels, and
Subrosa. Travis had last been seen supporting Creed (with Subrosa)
on their breakout 2000 national tour. Travis released
"Artichoke" in late 2007, and is now leading the music
project Helixglow.
In 2009, IPR partnered with Invisible Children to
produce and distribute a 15-song benefit compilation CD titled
"Njagala
ennyimba – Songs for the Invisible Children." The project
included three previous Grammy Award nominees, and a three-city
national tour (Los Angeles, NYC, Saint Augustine) which featured
live performances by Ellen Foley, Chris Barron (Spin Doctors), 2007
American Idol semi-finalist Alaina Alexander, and IPR's Lettuce
Olive.
Also
in 2009, IPR released Nashville's (by way of Thailand) Samantha Lu's
amazing cover of Paul Westerberg's Replacements' classic "Can't
Hardly Wait."
In
2011, IPR released the debut CD by Los Angeles based
musician/actress/model Anjelia.
In
2012, IPR released the single "Recyclesaurus" by
Helixglow. The song was featured in the film "The Beach
Chronicles" which debuted at the Miami International Film
Festival in March. The film project features Daryl Hannah, Tommy
Lee and William Shatner among many others. A second Helixglow release, "More or
Less," was released later in the year.
